Currently, the Seaford Fire Department Junior Firefighters meet the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Seaford Fire Department Headquarters. If you are interested in becoming an Explorer, or would like more information, please stop by the fire house on the second or fourth Thursday, or on any Wednesday night at 7:30.
The Seaford Fire Department Junior Firefighters train along side the firefighters and medics of the Seaford Fire Department and get hands-on experience with the tools, techniques, and equipment used by the department. Junior Firefighters learn about hose handling, ladders, surface rescue, the Jaws of Life, Haz Mat, first aid, and many other skills needed to become a successful firefighter or fire medic. With the training a junior firefighter gains, he or she can join the department as a firefighter or fire medic.
