New EMS Members in the Seaford Fire Department
Two members of the Seaford Fire Department recently completed 9 months of extensive EMS training at the Nassau County EMS Academy.
Lt. Joe Pignataro, a 7 year member of the SFD, was certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AMT). As an AMT, Lt. Pignataro will be able to administer advanced cardiac and trauma medication to patients. His training involved hundreds of hours of classroom training as well as nearly 100 hours of field training in hospitals and ALS ambulances. Lt. Pignataro is employed as a Fire Marshal with the Melville Fire District. Joe’s father is an Ex-Chief of the Wantagh Fire Department.
FF Ryan Gale, a 2 year member of the SFD was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). As an EMT FF Gale will perform basic life support including administering oxygen to patients. The EMT class was held two times a week for 9 months. FF Gale is a college student.
These members will help to provide the citizens of the Seaford Fire District with state of the art medical care.
